Hi, I’m Foxtrot!

I’ve had tumblr for many many years and have never done one of these.

I’m a cis girl who uses she/her! I’m bisexual and am currently studying and working part time, so I mostly spam posts or queue things these days. I primarily use mobile, but for longer posts (like this!) I use my laptop. So sometimes there may be a few issues- sorry!

Here is my Before You Follow

Here is a list of things I blog about (generally. im sporadic.) and info on my tagging system.

IN THIS BLOG, WE LOVE PHEE GENOA ✨ So, I decided to dedicate this week’s art for this wonderful woman.

Oh, and I have a Tech x Phee art in my WIPs Folder, something I’m so excited to share to everyone. It will also be added to the freebies I give out on my shop.

And no, I’m not happy that this draw series is almost over. Because that only means one thing.

Tech & Phee, sitting on a tree……..😆 I know I’m not the only one who loved that nugget of info that Tech actually chats to Phee about Crosshair’s sparkling personality 😂, and presumably about more life stuff. 🥹

Creative note: I cropped this out of my initial idea of a wide landscape piece (see under the cut) which I abandoned because I don’t think it works. May revisit it another day!

Just watched the latest episode of Bad Batch. And LO AND BEHOLD Phee showed up and ruined the WHOLE FUCKING EPISODE. Literally THE EXACT MOMENT SHE SHOWED UP she ruined a really important and vulnerable moment with the boys AND THEN the FIRST WORDS out of her mouth were her completely bashing Crosshair. And she dared to do it while talking about Tech as though he didn’t hate having to be around her.

Honestly. Honestly. How. The. Fuck. Do people. Like her.

She’s so fucking toxic for them and clearly doesn’t give a shit about any of them. She’s not cool or hot or interesting. She’s an asshole to them. She’s reckless and a narcissist and she ruins the entire episode the moment she shows her face. Fuck Phee. She doesn’t deserve to be anywhere near 99 because of how awful she is to every single one of them. The sooner she leaves them the fuck alone, the better.

Edit: I know a lot of people are going to think this is about race or sex, and I want to make it very clear that it’s not. It’s not because she’s black and it’s not because she’s a woman. It’s because she treats everyone aside from herself with so little regard. She had every chance in the world to be a great character, and they squandered it the moment she began to pick on Tech. And as someone who has been on the receiving end of it like him, both as someone who is autistic as well as having to deal with narcissists my entire life, it’s not fun. Those who see it understand and those who don’t obviously have not experienced what that’s like; or are at least not aware of how poorly they or others were being treated. Don’t waste the energy getting pressed about the wrong things

you can’t just say “i’m not being racist/misogynistic/misogynoir” as a shield. Do you realize how you sound? At the very least, have you taken one iota to think about how this may make black fans feel - to see gross, disgusting hate against a character who has done NOTHING warranting that level of vitriol?

You say it’s not about race/sex. I don’t believe you!

(and I am ND, have experienced emotional abuse as well as bullying. Phee has not done any of those things!)

Hold my fkn poodle

I feel like we need to break down the original post in both literal and contextual terms because that paragraph is ALLLLLLLL kinds of reductive and problematic.

  1. Phee’s appearance in this episode lasted just over two minutes. 2 mins 20 secs to be exact, and yes— I did rewatch it with a stopwatch just to apply this point. The entire episode, not including the closing credits is 20 minutes. So quantitatively, if her 10% presence was enough to ruin the entirety of this episode for you, it would logically lead me to believe your engagement with the other 18 minutes must have been extremely minimal.
  2. The importance and vulnerability of the moment she “ruined” was one of many we’ve seen since Crosshair has returned. As a fan of the show, you should know he does not posess particularly loquacious tendencies— meaning the thoughts he’s willing to verbally share are fleeting at most. Crosshair was asked to explain why he withheld pertinent information, so he did. He then provided a promising lead for them to follow on their search for Tantiss. Phee’s arrival did not prevent him from divulging that their next mission was to infiltrate a labour camp on Erebus. In fact, it provided them the means to get there to which they didn’t already have. (Curious— do you harbour a similar degree of hatred toward the Wyrm on Barton IV for interupting his and Hunter’s confessional?)
  3. If your perception of labelling his personality as “sparkling” equates to “completely bashing Crosshair”, I encourage you to take a gander down some of the well-known Crosshair hate blogs around here. And, an important reminder: Phee’s comment was an interpretation of Tech’s recollection. He would have had to previously describe his brother in coinciding terms for Phee to have formulated that instant recognition. Had Tech, instead, described his brother using only terms that would imply congeniality and warmth, Phee’s remark would have been exceedingly different.
  4. “How the fuck do people like her.” Phee’s objective characterization is one of capability, level-headedness, altruism, compassion, selflessness, and downright bad-assery. She, rightfully, has a fan base because of all those qualities. One can dislike her engagement with the boys and still see value in her character. Alternatively, one can appreciate the necessity of her relationship to the batch, whilst simultaneously not showing favour for her character. Both of these things are valid. Your vitriol seems to be largely unfounded.
  5. “She’s not cool or hot or interesting.” Those are objective opinions based solely on personal preferences, and extremely reductive to the entirety of her character. Your opinion is not fact. Your perception is no one’s reality except yours. What you deem hot, and what I deem hot are hopefully very different. Additionally, if her appearance is a large contributor to your obviously intense hatred of her, using the “I’m not racist” shield loses almost all of its validity.
  6. I worry your understanding of toxicity and narcissism may be lacking in regard to interpersonal relationships. Bringing the boys to a safe haven when they needed it the most, thus ensuring even their temporary safety and nourishment, is neither toxic nor narcissistic. Nor is frantically helping save as many lives as possible before an imminent sea surge. Nor is handing out blankets to the displaced citizens afterward. Nor is an entire career spent searching for ancient relics of deep cultural meaning completely adjacent to her own.
  7. It’s troublesome that your perception of her relationship with Tech has been diminished to only that of picking on him. A large portion of Tech’s characterization is how resilient he is despite his neurodivergence. He does not hesitate to throw hands when he needs to. He has stood up for himself on several occasions. He is not deficient because of his ND. Their affection for one another is largely implied— meaning, the writers have left us to fill in blanks where we see fit. However, several instances of their interactions have demonstrated a large degree of relationship growth. From: “this story changes every time she tells it”, to “well my interest is certainly piqued”, to “that would be one way to quantify it”, to “hang on!”, to that little smile he gives her whilst following in her wake around the Tree of Life. It’s perfectly acceptable to reject the notion of their advancing relationship, but to diminish all of their interactions to only that of bullying is reductive.
  8. “Those who see it, understand. And those who don’t, have obviously never experienced what it’s like…cont.” This is a gross misrepresentation. You are speaking on behalf of others whom experiences you have never known, people you will never meet, and about opinions you’ve never heard voiced.
  9. And finally, please note all of these remarks are coming from someone diagnosed as neurodivergent, has suffered bullying for years on end, who has previously removed themselves from a relationship with a truly oppressive narcissist, cherishes her friendships with POC and LGBTQ+ members very very deeply, and is extremely sad that she had to waste 30 minutes of rare writing time to make this post so that everyone you’ve offended may recognize your malignant words do not represent this community as a whole.

Excellently said @starqueensthings .
